Decent homes
November 27 @ 19:30 – 21:00
Part of a series of monthly webinars to help social housing residents understand their rights, how to stand up for them, and how to get better treatment and services from landlords.
Landlords need to make sure that tenants’ homes meet and are maintained to current Decent Homes Standard and must take all reasonable step to ensure the health and safety of tenants in their homes.
In the afternoon webinar session, the Decent Homes Standard team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government will be explaining what’s expected of landlords in terms of the decency and quality of their homes. This will include:
· Housing quality and the standards that guide this
· What the national picture looks like
· Electrical safety and the housing health and safety rating system (HHRS)
The team can’t attend the evening session in person, but we’ll show the video from the afternoon and host a discussion about this. We’re also looking at more speakers, tbc.
This session is open to all social housing residents. Closed captions will be enabled.
